About Louise Figlia

Louise Figlia, the founder of Citizen d’Italia, is a second-generation Italian American living in San Francisco, California. Her grandparents immigrated to the United States in the early 1900s. Her family originally settled in New York and eventually came west to plant roots in San Francisco.

Louise has always been passionate about her Italian heritage – taking cooking classes to perfect her sauce, language classes so she could order the perfect macchiato and annual trips back to La Patria. She learned that she was eligible for citizenship through Jure Sanguinis while attending culinary school in Europe. She immediately began the process of gathering her documents as she was eager to find a way to stay in Italy legally.

What ensued was two years of interviewing family members, listening to the stories they told and gathering documents. Louise loved the time spent learning about her grandparents, their lives and how they came to arrive in America.

Louise’s clientele gradually grew to include many of her cousins and friends. She found herself becoming a dual Italian citizenship consultant almost by default —but always by passion. Hence Citizen d’Italia was born.

Today, Louise’s business has grown to include a dedicated staff and boasts clientele from all over the world. Her clients have come from all over the United States, including New York, New Jersey, Florida and of course, California. Many as far away as Abu Dhabi and Australia.

Louise has been helping people get their Italian citizenship since 2005 and although her base is in San Francisco, no matter where you reside, she can assist you too.

If you are interested in having Louise speak on dual Italian citizenship at your next club event or meeting, please reach out to us through our contacts page.
